1. What is my Medium?
Performance, Visual, New Media and Literary. It's possible to call it Conceptual as well, especially in the inclusion of the businesslike dealings I engage in to make this project happen.
2. How is this Art and not PR or Journalism or Popular Entertainment?
I blend the three. Some videos, you'll notice, include PR or interviews and investigative reporting. My objective is to find a self sustaining art and that is the full scope of my art.
3. Where is my Art Presented?
My audience is online. As far as I'm concerned, the real-life interactions are subjugated by the final online presentations. I'm actually interested in living in private businesses. I have the idea that art and business should be the brothers they once were, not competitive and suspicious of each other.
4. Where does one Piece of Work begin and Another One End?
Maybe I'd have to consider this whole project one piece of art. On the other hand, each video can stand on its own.
5. Isn't Editing Necessary For an Artwork or its Presentation?
I'm finding that editing is at the core of what I do. I have thousands of decisions to make each day in the presentation of my work. Some videos do not get edited because I don't want there to be question of timing or truth. Some videos are highly edited and have no obligation to be informational.
Traditionally, all the arts have had a separation between audience and presenters. A good example of this is the painter that hangs work in pristine galleries but offers private studio visits to preferred clients. I intend to blend those two groups into one. We all get the same view.
6. What Do I Hope to Gain From this Project?
The Nobel Peace Prize. My hope is to join people in understanding that there is art in everything we do including business. Personal interaction can open many doors to someone less fortunate because we all have talents and skills to share with someone else, we just have to find the people that need what we do.
